– Starred review, Publisher’s Weekly

“An engaging and thoroughly enjoyable collection showcasing a strong new voice with a distinctive vision.” – Peter Tennant, Black Static #39

“If you haven’t been reading Jason Fischer, your literary diet is lacking in zest, zing, and essential vitamins. ‘Undead Camels Ate Their Flesh’ is alone worth the price of admission here.” – Gardner Dozois, multiple Hugo Award winning editor.

“A zombie tale that is so insanely different that it deserves every accolade and award that comes its way. Zombies just want to have fun, feral pig rampages, and psycho killers. Who let Fischer off the chain with this one?” – Scaryminds

  1. Defy The Grey Kings is truly a wonderful world. It paints an incredible picture which is believable and wondrous.

    1. Thanks Ryan! It was a real pleasure to dive into the world of Tusk and the iron-age elephants, and I hope to write more stories in this setting (and perhaps to revisit the novel someday).

  2. I was just introduced to your work through the pseudopod horror podcast where they presented “The Dog Pit.” It is a remarkable work and now I’ll have to track pick up more of your stuff. You’ve actually inspired me to start writing more of my own stuff again. So I wanted to drop you a comment thanking you, and praising your excellent work. Keep at it; you work is fantastic!

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words, Josh! So pleased you enjoyed my story, it was a hoot to write a mythos piece. Doubly pleased that it’s inspired you to pick up the pen once more – hope to read/listen to some of your stories soon! Cheers, Jason.

  3. Jason delivered an energetic and multifaceted workshop to our year 11 students. He mixed anecdotes from his life as a writer with useful writing games and tasks. Students were engaged and inspired by the session which supported their learning in English.

    1. Thanks Catherine! Was a real pleasure to run a workshop for your class, please let me know if you need any other ideas or material for the budding writers in the room! Cheers, Jason.

  4. Hi Jason! I just wanted to say that I’m actually re-reading my copy of Writers of the Future XXVI in which your story, The House of Nameless, appears, and I just wanted to say that it’s always been one of my favorite stories that appeared contained within, and that it actually helped inspire my own writing style.

    1. Aw, thanks Camron! You are too kind. Was great fun to write about Raoul and friends, and going to WoTF was a career highlight. Hope your own writing is going well, hope to read your stories soon! Are you entering Writers of the Future?

  6. HI Jason,
A friend suggested that you would be a great support to help my daugther, Sarah with writing her stories for children’s books, Sarah has ADS, ADHD and dyslexia plus a wonderful imagination!
I would actually like to book in for some sessions for her ( even if in the new year) but hoping you could invoice me now to use up someNDIS funding, before it renews in January.

  7. Hi Jason. I have just finished reading Quiver after a friend recommended it to me. It is by far the best and most unique take on zombies I’ve seen. Tamsyn is such an awesome character and a true survivor. I am excited to start book #2!

    1. Hey James! I’m so very pleased you enjoyed Tamsyn’s adventures. Book 2 is out now and is called “Go To Hell”, and I will admit I have taken the zombie sub-genre, shaken it around and tipped everything out on the floor while cackling maniacally.

I had a lot of fun writing these books, and truly appreciate your kind words 🙂

Vol 2 Go To Hell can be found here, and if you want a signed copy just let me know! https://argonauticapress.com/?product=go-to-hell

      Kind regards,

      Jason
